RBMVE Biographical Note: Frederick Brewster Loomis was an archaeologist, paleontologist, and geologist for the 1934-1936 RBMVE field seasons. Loomis was affiliated with Amherst College during this time, and much of the Pratt Museum’s collections resulted from Loomis’ expeditions and fieldwork.
Scope and Content: Abstract from the finding aid listed above: “Reports, correspondence, clippings, photographs, field notebooks and catalogues related to the various natural history collections formerly held in the Pratt Museum, as well as expeditionary field work undertaken to develop those collections. Also includes some records of Amherst College department of Geology.”

Container List or Summary of RBMVE-related Material: Box 2, Folder 2: “Field Notebook 1, 6×8 inches, black binding, cover stamped “RECORD.” [Probably F.B. Loomis, Keet Seel/Monument Valley, AZ. 1936]” Notebook includes field drawings of Keet Seel Canyon area. Also two pressed plant specimens in notebook. No date on notebook, but thought by archivist to be from RBMVE.
